Sunny West
Sunny West discovered her interest in painting late in life. Having grown up with California vistas, Sunny is especially inspired by the beauty and diversity of New England landscapes. She is now learning to capture her response to that beauty in oils on canvas. Her first painting teacher was Pat Lutz from Newburyport. She studied plein air painting with Ipswich’s own, Caleb Stone, and landscape painting with Julie Airoldi at her studio in New Hampshire. Sunny especially enjoys the challenge of illuminating the soul and likeness of her subjects in portrait and figurative paintings. Sunny derives great joy and inspiration from being a part of the growing artistic community in Ipswich. She is a member of the Newburyport Art Association and a member of the Ipswich Cultural Council.
