Artist Statement
Paul began his interest in photography as a freshman in High School.
In 1976, while attending University of Vermont, he entered his first art show at UVM. He then obtained a street peddlers license to sell his images on Church St. in Burlington Vermont. After a year of displaying his photography as a street peddler, he moved into the Burlington Square mall where he first built a display cart. Eventually, he opened his own gallery in the mall and was a featured photographer at other galleries in the Burlington area. He was a member of The Vermont handcrafters association until leaving Vermont in 1983. He focuses most of his work throughout New England and Ipswich, in particular.
Paul currently owns and operates Manzi Electrical Corporation, but has never lost his passion for photography and has continued to learn about and perfect the artistic and technical aspects of the craft. He has shot in both film and slide formats, but now prefers digital for its ease of use, versatility and quality. He focuses most of his work in New England, and his favorite subject matter has always been nature and wildlife.
