Having lived and painted most of her life in New England, Ipswich
artist Dale Partiss Greene has been inspired most by studying with
Caleb Stone, Kevin Shea and Julie Airoldi. She believes that working in plein air presents the most challenging and rewarding opportunities
to really see, feel and connect with the changing moods of nature.
Capturing a special moment in time on canvas is her intention and
pleasure.
Dale is a member of Newburyport Art Association where she won the
Laura Coombs Hills Winter Juried Show 2006 Award for Excellence in
Oil, Greater Haverhill Arts Association, Andovers Artists Guild, North
Shore Arts Association, Associate Member, and is an Artist Member of
the Marblehead Arts Association.
Artist Statement
For me, the process of creating a beautiful work of art is both satisfying and compelling. From nature I select a subject, and then combine the elements of good composition, harmonious colors and interesting brushstrokes to capture the mood of the scene. My purpose in painting a landscape is not to recreate a scene, but to reconnect with the sense of joy and freedom which is inspired by our natural world.
